The Oke Creative Future Foundation (OCFF), a non-governmental organization dedicated to cancer advocacy, has sought collaboration with Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH), Irrua, Edo State, to strengthen cancer prevention, early detection, patient support, and community outreach programmes.

Receiving the delegation in his office on Wednesday, the Chief Medical Director/CEO of ISTH, Prof. Reuben Eifediyi, commended the foundation for its commitment to combating cancer, describing the disease as a global health challenge that requires collective efforts. He assured the delegation of the hospital’s readiness to partner with the organization in advancing cancer care and awareness initiatives.

Speaking during the visit, the Founder and Executive Director of OCFF, Surv. Letter Friday, praised ISTH for its contributions to healthcare delivery, specialist cancer care, research, and medical training. He expressed optimism that a partnership between both institutions would enhance public awareness, improve access to screening services, and provide greater support for cancer patients and survivors.

Surv. Friday noted that the foundation has undertaken several cancer awareness campaigns, free screening programmes, medical outreaches, and educational initiatives in different communities, with particular focus on breast, cervical, prostate, and childhood cancers.

The visit ended with both organizations expressing commitment to exploring areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening cancer prevention efforts and improving healthcare outcomes in Edo State and beyond.

Other guests present during the visit included the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Olukunle Michael Obagaye; former President of the Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Edo State Chapter, Dr. (Mrs.) Irene Akhideno; and the Head of the Publicity Unit, Public Relations and Information Department, ISTH, Mr. Aigbokhan Kenneth.
