ISTH CMD JOINS GOVERNOR OKPEBHOLO IN COMMISSIONING PREMIUM TRUST BANK IRRUA BRANCH, SOLAR-POWERED BOREHOLE

The Chief Medical Director/CEO of Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH), Professor Reuben Agbons Eifediyi, on Friday joined the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and other dignitaries to commission the Irrua branch of Premium Trust Bank and a solar-powered borehole in the Irrua Market in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State.

Speaking with journalists after the event, Professor Eifediyi described the establishment of the first new-generation bank in Irrua as a major milestone that would stimulate economic growth and improve access to modern financial services for residents and businesses.

He also commended Premium Trust Bank for providing the solar-powered borehole, describing the project as a remarkable demonstration of corporate social responsibility that will help address the challenge of access to potable water in the community.

At the commissioning ceremony, Governor Monday Okpebholo said his administration had fulfilled its promise to bring banking services closer to the people of Irrua through the establishment of Premium Trust Bank in the town. He noted that the development would promote financial inclusion and support economic activities across the area.

In his remarks, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Premium Trust Bank, Mr. Emmanuel Efe Emefienim, stated that the bank is the fastest-growing bank in Africa, highlighting the opening of its 31st branch within four years of operation. He reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting small and medium-scale enterprises and contributing to economic development in the communities it serves.

Other dignitaries at the event included the Edo State APC Deputy Chairman, Hon. Sylvester Aigboboh; the Edo State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Emmanuel Ehidiamen Okoebor; the Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Professor Eunice Eboesirehimen Omonzejie; and several other government officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders.
